The Town of Riverhead Recreation Department will host its 16th Annual Snapper Bluefish Tournament on Saturday, September 7, on the Peconic River.
The focus of the tournament is to get more people involved in fishing and to raise money for the recreation department’s scholarship fund. Winners will receive a rod-and-reel combo, and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division. Additionally, T-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 registrants.
Pre-registration is available by calling (631) 727-5744, ext. 0, or in person at the recreation department at 55 Columbus Avenue, Riverhead. On-site registration will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Fishing begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
Rain date is Sunday, September 8.
