Hudson Sun: The Fort Meadow Reservoir in Marlborough, MA, will be closed to swimmers and boaters Tuesday while the lake is treated with herbicide to control the spread of invasive weeds.

Solitude Lake Management will apply Reward to manage invasive, non-native weeds, including Eurasian watermilfoil and variable watermilfoil, in the reservoir. Company officials surveyed the lake, which straddles the Hudson-Marlborough border, recently to determine which areas need treatment. The herbicide will be applied mostly near the shore, said Priscilla Ryder, conservation officer.
