Four Winns SL222 Deckboat

The Four Winns SL222 deckboat is a versatile vessel that comes with a wide array of standard features. Starting at the stern, you’ll find a wide swim platform covered by grippy rubber (teak is optional) and featuring a built-in, folding ladder. On the starboard side of the transom is an aft-facing seat—great for watching the kids play in the water or simply drying off after a dip. Below this “swim seat” is vented storage for skis, boards, jackets and other gear. There’s even a standard shower and a set of speakers back here.

Access to the cockpit is through a transom cutout to port with storage below the top step. A filler cushion can be placed over the walkthrough to convert the transom to a large lounge. The engine compartment is under the central transom cushion. A portable, 36-quart cooler and the electrical panel are below the transom bench seat.

Both the helm and passenger seats are big and comfortable, and feature adjustable seatbacks and bolsters. The passenger seat faces a large dash with pull-out drawers and a narrow upper tray for holding sunglasses, wallets, purses, cell phones and other loose items. The helm features a compass and mounting space for a couple of small electronic units. Standard gauges include fuel, oil pressure, speed, tach, temperature, trim and battery. There’s also a standard depth gauge with shallow-water alarm, water and air temperature and hour meter.

Another long, in-deck compartment is located below the walkthrough to the bow. The bow seating area is covered by comfortable cushions and flanked by sturdy, low-profile grab rails. There are stereo speakers on either side. Nice touches include pull-up cleats and a wide, flat, rubber-covered area at the bow for handling the anchor and docklines. A bow canopy can be ordered as an option, providing sun shade and privacy when using the porta potty hidden below the central bow cushion.

The SL222 features several engine options up to 320 hp, along with a host of options, including a wakebaord tower and tow-sports and and trailer packages.
