Green Harbor, Marshfield, Jetty Repair Begins
June 4, 2014

Repair of storm damage to the East and West jetties at the mouth of Green Harbor in Marshfield, Massachusetts, has begun.
The work is being funded by federal money for Superstorm Sandy recovery. In February, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $1.17 million contract to Atlantic Support Installations, Inc. for the repairs. The work involves placing new stone, reusing some displaced stone and installing sheet piling to sand-tighten a section of the landward end of the East jetty.
Boaters should expect some congestion in the harbor during the jetty work, which is expected to continue through the summer.
