Salem News: In a city moving full speed ahead to attract cruise ships and whale-watching vessels, there is at least one group banned from Salem’s shores—Greenpeace.
The environmental nonprofit known for its aggressive demonstrations had hoped to dock its 163-foot icebreaker in Salem Harbor this month to campaign against the city’s coal-fired power plant. But the city’s harbormaster—still stinging from the organization’s disorderly protest the last time it boated to Salem’s banks—denied its request to dock.
