Group Offers Narragansett Seal Watch Cruises

Save the Bay is starting its season of seal-watch cruises in Narragansett Bay’s East Passage.

The cruises depart from Bowen’s Ferry Landing in Newport and offer panoramic views of seals resting on Citing Rock off Rose Island.

Save the Bay has offered seal tours for 15 years. From fall through early spring, harbor and grey seals enter the bay to feed on herring and other fish. Rhode Island’s winter seal population can be as high as 1,000 animals.
