CapeCodOnline.com: The nonprofit group that oversaw Highland Light tours and grounds for 15 years has been accused in an anonymous complaint filed with the attorney general’s office of misappropriating charitable funds.

Highland Light, built in 1857, is the oldest lighthouse on Cape Cod, and still used as an aid to navigation by the U.S. Coast Guard. The property, which includes a lightkeeper’s house converted to a retail shop, is owned by the National Park Service and within the bounds of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The light is part of an 86-acre historic district that also includes the Highland House Museum and the Highland Links golf course.
