Jamestown Commercial Moorings May Increase
February 29, 2016
The Jamestown Press reports that 40 more commercial moorings may be approved for the waters around Jamestown, RI, due to a state regulation that require a 60:40 ration of private moorings to commercial moorings.
Clark Boat Yard has requested 20 additional moorings, Conanicut Yacht Club is asking for 10 new moorings, and Dutch Harbor Boatyard is requesting an additional 10 moorings.
The new moorings have apparently been conditionally approved by the Jamestown harbor management board; however, the marinas must meet a set of state and federal requirements before the moorings can be installed.
