June Events at Cape Cod Maritime Museum


The Cape Cod Maritime Museum in Hyannis has several interesting events and courses to explore this June. Check them out below.

June 8 – Captain’s Course 

In partnership with New England Maritime, a captain’s course will be offered at the museum starting Monday, June 8.  The class will be Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 8:00 to 4:00 for 4 weeks.  Contact New England Maritime HERE.

June 15-17 – Schooner Shenandoah Visit

The schooner Shenandoah from Martha’s Vineyard will visit Hyannis Harbor from June 15-17. During the 3 days, the museum is jointly offering academic programs on the Shenandoah for school children, as well as joint tours of the Cape Cod Maritime Museum and the Shenandoah for the general public.  Hours for visiting the Museum are 10:00 – 4:oo and the Shenandoah 10:00 – 6:00.  She will be docked at the Hyannis Marina.

June 29 – Summer Afternoon Parent/Child Activities 

The museum’s summer activities begin the last week of June. Each day of the week has a different theme, and the activity will be offered each afternoon, as a drop in activity.  Activities include “Make Your Own Wind Chime”, “Fishing with Recycled Water Bottles or Bamboo Rods”, “Build Your Own Aluminum Boat Challenge”, “Create Your Own Sailor’s Valentine”, and “Design & Build Your Own Wooden Toy Boat”. Families can come to the museum, visit and do an activity to bring home with them as a Cape Cod treasure.
