Leatherback Turtle Released off Cape Cod

CapeCodOnine: New England wildlife rescuers this weekend were cheering one of the first successful attempts at treatment and release of a leatherback turtle in the world.

Leatherback turtles don’t survive in aquariums because of their enormous size, their exclusive diet of jellyfish, and a propensity to swim into aquarium tanks, according to Tony La-Casse, spokesman for the New England Aquarium.
