Lobster Processing Plant Cited for Health Violations

Bangor Daily News: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration found serious violations of federal seafood safety at Linda Bean’s lobster processing plant in [Rockland’s] industrial park.

The violations were found during 4 inspections done by the FDA in December at 17 Merrill Drive LLC, according to department documents. A warning letter was sent out in February.

The inspection report found that the lobster and crabmeat at the plant were “prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby they may have been rendered injurious to health.”
