Firefighters and harbormasters from several Rhode Island communities graduated on Oct. 10 at Coast Guard Station Castle Hill in Newport after attending a training class to better prepare them for “emergencies of significance.” The training was intended to prepare the responders to work in concert with the Coast Guard under a single national standard.
Responders from the Rhode Island communities of Providence, East Providence, Cranston, Warwick, Portsmouth, Bristol, Newport, South Kingstown and Warren attended the training session.
