MA Fall Trout Stocking Underway; Map, Updates Available
October 13, 2017
Fall trout stocking is now underway in all districts of Massachusetts. More than 60,000 rainbow trout over 12” are being stocked on rivers, lakes and ponds throughout the state, and the public can view updated stocking reports at mass.gov/trout.
The new map component of the stocking report allows users to zoom and pan to regions of the state and discover new destinations for fishing. Anglers can simply zoom to the area they would like to explore then click on any thumbtack icon to view the dates and types of fish that have been stocked at that location. Stocking locations on streams are accurate, but fish swim, so be sure to investigate other reaches of the stream as well.
State fishing license are available online at MassFishHunt, at MassWildlife offices, or at license venders. The stocking report is still subject to change depending on staffing, equipment, and weather conditions.
