MA Snowmobiler Rescued After Fall Through Ice

The Newburyport News reports that a 20-year-old man was rescued after his snowmobile broke through the ice on Forest Lake in Methuen, MA, on Sunday, April 5. The first responder was New Hampshire firefighter Nicholas Proulx, who happened to witness the accident while visiting his family. According to the News, Proulx, who is trained in ice rescue, went onto the ice with a canoe, which he used to pull the snowmobiler from the water. The Methuen Fire Department also responded and helped bring the snowmobiler safely to shore.
