Madaket (ACK) Shellfishing Ban Lifted After 15 Years
April 17, 2012
Inquirer & Mirror: Harbormaster Dave Fronzuto announced Wednesday that the traditional restriction on shellfishing in Madaket Harbor had been lifted by the state Division of Marine Fisheries thanks to improved water quality.
“Madaket Harbor, for the first time in 15 years, is open and unrestricted for shellfishing,” Fronzuto said. “It’s healed itself enough so the shellfish can be consumed.”
