Madison, CT, Hotel Proposal May Relocate Boats
July 19, 2011
TheDay.com: Madison, Connecticut, First Selectman Fillmore McPherson is proposing a plan to expand the town-owned beach area at West Wharf, upgrade the streetscape and parking, improve drainage to protect the beach and shellfishing areas, and relocate the boats now moored just steps from the beach.
Much of the streetscape renovation will be financed with a $100,000 contribution from the Madison Beach Hotel, he said, and the beach area will be expanded onto a portion of property now owned by Ric Duques, the hotel’s developer. The town will give the new hotel now under construction use of a grassy area immediately in front of it.
