Maine’s St. George River Canoe Race Postponed to April 2

The St. George River Race, and annual spring ritual in Maine for 38 years, has been moved to April 2 due to ice. The race is one of the state’s first canoe and kayak races, and is the first in a series sponsored the Maine Canoe and Kayak Racing Organization.
Registration will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Searsmont Methodist Church on Route 131. The race starts at 11 a.m.
The 44th Passagassawakeag River Race is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, in Morrill.
