Man Drowns in Merrimack River

Boston.com: Firefighters pulled a man’s body from the Merrimack River in Concord, New Hampshire, after he drowned while swimming with a friend Monday afternoon [July 23], police said.

Timothy W. Gee, 49, of Concord was caught in the river’s current with his friend and swept toward a bridge behind the Everett Arena, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement.

The friend was able to get to shore and have someone call 911.
