Man Fined for Wetlands Destruction on Cape Cod
February 9, 2014
CapeCodOnline: When she went to the tidal flats off Sears Point on Monday, Conservation Agent Kristin Andres realized she had never seen anything like it. A small front-end loader was mired in the flats, its bucket still uplifted with tread marks extending far out to the low-tide mark and back toward the beach area in front of a home owned by David Rogers of Boston.
Wednesday night, the Conservation Commission voted to back Andres’ issuance of $3,300 a day in tickets to Rogers for various violations of laws governing wetlands and coastal banks. The fines for the unpermitted work began Monday.
