Man Rescued in Kennebec River

The Portland Press Herald reports that 64-year-old man was pulled from the Kennebec River in Skowhegan, Maine, on Saturday by a visiting Florida man.

Richard Dunton had been swimming with his wife when he lost consciousness and began floating downriver. Tom Cleaver saw Dunton, swam out and pulled him to shore, whereupon Cleaver’s brother began CPR. Dunton was flown by helicopter to a Bangor hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
