Man Sentenced for Polluting Piscataqua River

Seacoast Online: The former yard manager for the now-closed Grimmel Industries’ scrap-metal business was fined $5,000, and will be on federal probation for a year, for deliberately dumping contaminated “process water” into the Piscataqua River.

Christopher Garrity, of Leeds, Maine, was sentenced last month in the U.S. District Court of New Hampshire for a felony charge of knowingly “discharging a pollutant from a point source into a water of the U.S.” without a permit.
