Mass. Maritime Academy May Get New Training Ship

Cape Cod Times: The TS Kennedy is headed to New York City for an estimated $4 million in repairs, but a request by the Trump administration puts in motion the possibility of a new training ship for Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

The president’s budget adds $300 million to the federal Maritime Administration’s operations and training account to obtain and retrofit 2 used cargo ships that would replace the Kennedy, as well as the State University of New York Maritime College training ship Empire State VI.
