The Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, Town Meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Monday, November 18, 2013) will consider a contribution to purchasing an environmentally important parcel of land bordering Nasketucket Bay and currently owned by DeNormandie Farms in Fairhaven.

The purchase, spearheaded by the Buzzards Bay Coalition, would ensure that the 400-plus-acre parcel would remain as farm- and woodland, which would help protect the health of Buzzards Bay by reducing runoff and increased development. Additionally, the purchase would increase public land and access to the waters of Buzzards Bay.
