Messages in Bottle Wash up in MA

Wareham Week: Tropical Storm Irene brought lots of things with her to Wareham, including rain, high winds, and abnormally high tides. She left trees toppled, buildings damaged, and homes without power – but also delivered a few messages from some children, who each seem to have a fondness for pirates.

“I am 5. I am a pirate. Argh!” wrote Jack of Centerville, Mass.

A plastic tube containing 4 messages written by 2 Centerville children, including Jack, and 2 Sagamore Beach children washed up on Stoney Point Dike in Wareham sometime during Tropical Storm Irene’s visit.

The messages, written in marker on bright yellow construction paper, were carefully placed between 2 duct-taped sheets of plastic and loaded into the container.
