More RI Poachers Busted

The Rhode Island DEM’s Division of Law Enforcement recently acted on a complaint that three poachers were taking undersized tautog and exceeding their daily limit.

An Environmental Police Officer was dispatched to the area and took up surveillance. As the poachers returned to their vehicle, they were intercepted by the waiting officer. They were found to be in possession of 47 tautog and two black sea bass. Thirty nine of the tautog and one of the sea bass were found to be undersized.

All three poachers were charged with exceeding the daily limit, and possession of undersized tautog. The seized fish were donated to the Amos House in Providence.
