Mystic River Group Seeks Canoes for Restoration Work
June 5, 2014
The Mystic River [MA] Watershed Association is preparing for a busy summer on the Mystic River removing water chestnut, an invasive plant that is wreaking havoc on the Mystic. The community and corporate hand-pulling events draw upwards of 100 people, and the group needs more boats to accommodate eager volunteers.
If you have a canoe you can lend to the effort from mid-June to mid-August, contact Patrick@MysticRiver.org.
2014 Community Water Chestnut Removal events are scheduled for:
- Saturday, June 28, 9AM to 1PM – Mystic River Reservation, across from Whole Foods Medford, 2151 Mystic Valley Parkway, Medford, MA. View a map here.
- Saturday, July 12, 9AM to 1PM – Location TBD.
