Narragansett, RI, COC Objects to Fast Ferry Proposal

Photo/Block Island Ferry The board of directors for the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce has formally submitted its objection letter to the state’s Public Utilities Commission over R.I. Fast Ferry’s application to run a ferry service between Quonset and Block Island.

Deborah Kelso, the chamber’s executive director, sent the 2-page letter on behalf of the board this week. In it, she said businesses along Route 108 and in the Port of Galilee would experience revenue losses if the ferry service were allowed. She also wrote a letter to the editor outlining the board’s reasons for opposing the application.
