The Community Boating Center of New Bedford will hold its 11th annual Opening of the Bay fundraising event on June 3, 2017.

Join the CBC for a night of dining and dancing while helping to make a difference in the lives of children in the Greater New Bedford area. Last summer, 80% of the children attending CBC programs were from economically disadvantaged families who rely on funds generated by fundraising event. The Opening of the Bay Fundraiser allows children to participate in CBC’s summer program free of charge.

CBC is a community-outreach center connecting Greater New Bedford’s at-risk youth with mentors to enhance their lives through boating. CBC’s flagship program is the Summer Youth Sailing Program. This program is a step-by-step course in character development, using sailing and boating as a tool to help instill important life lessons in students, such as the values of integrity, sound judgment, teamwork and environmental awareness.
