New Bristol, RI, Maritime Center Nears Completion

The town of Bristol, RI, will unveil its new Maritime Center to the pubic on May 5. Similar to Newport’s Maritime Center, the Bristol center will house the harbormaster’s office, bathroom facilities for visiting boaters, an open lounge area, laundry facility with washers and dryers, and vending machines. Work is still needed to complete the building’s exterior and the harbormaster’s office.

Cost of the center, which is housed in the former armory building adjacent to the town marina and Prudence Island ferry terminal, is $1,754,700, of which $839,297 was paid in public funds.
