New Buoy Slated for New Inlet, MA
July 29, 2015
The Scituate Mariner reports that Massachusetts’ third most dangerous inlet—New Inlet at the mouth of the North and South Rivers between Scituate and Marshfield, MA—will be getting a new buoy.
It will replace the 12,500-pound red-and-white “N1” bell that broke free of its mooring this past winter and ended up on the rocks at Fourth Cliff. The new navigational aid will be green flashing bell buoy, and is expected to be installed in mid-August.
