New Stuff: ACR AISLink CB1 Transceiver
August 27, 2015
The new AISLink CB1 transceiver from ACR is an easy-to-use and reliable Class B Automatic Identification System (AIS) unit that sends and receives wireless navigational data to and from nearby vessels, including the vessel’s name, position, course or speed over ground, heading and rate of turn. The competitively priced ($900) transceiver is small, rugged and waterproof and features multiple interfaces and low power consumption. It also comes with an internal GPS antenna, which makes connection to an external antenna optional.
The AISLink CB1 features NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 data output, which allows for seamless interaction with navigation systems. Users can also place the transceiver in silent mode to turn off the transmission of identifying information while still seeing transmissions from other vessels with AIS.
