The Hobie Getaway sailing catamaran has been redesigned for 2017. The Getaway’s rotomolded polyethylene hulls now feature reverse bows and an additional 6” of length.

Other enhancements include an accent chine, new graphics and a molded-in rear carrying handle. Like the rest of Hobie’s rotomolded sailing fleet, the Getaway is outfitted with Martinique-themed sails of chartreuse, white and orange.

This versatile boat can carry up to 6 people on its spacious nets and optional wing seats.

Other features include positively buoyant hulls with integrated keels that eliminate the need for daggerboards. The EZ Loc rudder system simplifies rudder operation, while the fully-battened, boomless mainsail features a high-cut foot for easy tacks and gybes and ample visibility.

The roller-furling jib streamlines headsail setup. Integrated cooler/dry-storage chamber on both hulls provides storage options. A Comptip mast increases safety around power lines, while the “Hobie Bob” mast float and righting line simplify capsize recovery.

Options include an aluminum trailer with optional double rollers and a spar stand, beach wheels/dolly, single trapeze system, and the aforementioned wing seats.

Details

  • Length 17’
  • Beam: 7’ 8”
  • Capacity: 1,000 lbs.
  • Sail area: 180 square feet
  • Base price: $8,399
