New Stuff: Penn Fishing Tools
April 5, 2016
Penn has introduced a new series of spring-loaded fishing tools designed to handle virtually every onboard task. Made of 304 and 420 stainless steel wrapped in a titanium black-nickel coating, the tools are strong, durable and corrosion-resistant. Handles are non-slip and ergonomically shaped for a comfortable grip.
The 7” Wire Cutters feature sturdy, sharp jaws to sever single-strand wire and cable up to 0.84” thick. The cutters make a great companion to the 10” Leader Crimpers that can handle sleeves up to 0.08” in diameter.
The versatile Bull-Nose Pliers come in 6.5” and 8” overall lengths and deliver plenty of torque strength. Each is equipped with side-mounted cutting jaws with replaceable blades.
The 6.5” Parallel Pliers is the ideal tool for cutting wire, heavy monofilament and hooks. The design produces extreme pressure on the jaws for heavy work, while the bypass cutters cut instead of pinch.
Lastly, the 13” Hook Extractor is designed for inshore and nearshore use. This elongated tool allows anglers to reach hooks lodged deep in the fish’s mouth or throat. Squeeze the pistol-grip handle and the tip clamps down for a secure hold.
A durable holster accompanies each of the tools.
