Newbury, MA, Raises Dock & Ramp Permit Fees

Newburyport News: For the first time in years, permits for the town ramp and dock facility have undergone an update.

“While the facility has previous permits, they have not been updated since the early 1980s—over 30 years ago,” he said.

The following is the town fee schedule for 2012:

  • Mooring permit: $4 per foot
  • Mooring dock permit: $3 per linear foot of dock
  • Town dock slip permit, resident: $80 per year
  • Town dock temporary tie-up fee: $25 per day
  • Season ramp permit, powered vessel: $3 per foot
  • Season ramp permit, nonpowered: $1 per foot, up to maximum $20
  • Waterway permit, all other vessels, powered: $3 per foot
  • Waiting list fee: $10 per year
  • Commercial hauler season ramp permit: $400 per season
  • Commercial hauler one-use permit: $75
  • One-day ramp permit: $20 a day
  • Dock or wharf (including 10a permit): $3 per linear foot of dock
  • Late fee renewals not received by May 31: $10
  • Nonresident equipment fee: $25 per year
