Patriot Ledger: A Norwell man in the middle of a race from Rhode Island to Bermuda was picked up by a cruise ship Monday after he became overwhelmed with dehydration and seasickness.
WCVB reports that Nate Owen, a sailor from Norwell competing in the 635-mile Newport Bermuda Race, became “incapacitated with seasickness” about 20 hours into the race and contacted race officials.
“I started to get dehydrated, couldn’t take any water down, was trying desperately to get water into my system and it just wouldn’t go,” Owen told WCVB.
