Newport Boat Show Names Coast Guard Foundation as 2012 Charitable Partner

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, has been named the 2012 Official Charitable Partner by the Newport International Boat Show.

As the show’s charitable partner, the Coast Guard Foundation receives a booth at the event and its staff and board members will be onsite to share information on its mission and programs with attending public and press. In addition, a portion of the show’s Sunday ticket sales will be donated to the Foundation.

“We are incredibly happy and honored to be this year’s charity of choice for the Newport International Boat Show,” said Anne B. Brengle, president, Coast Guard Foundation. “It is the first large boat show of the season and incredibly important for boaters as well as companies in the marine industry. With over 40,000 attendees, the Newport Show is a fantastic venue for the Foundation, we truly value the partnership, support and recognition for our work on behalf of the brave men and women that keep us safe on the water.”
