Archipelago Rally

A variety of small craft compete in the Archipelago Rally, held each fall in Rhode Island.

The 8th Annual Archipelago Rally is scheduled to take place on November 9, 2013, on Rhode Island’s Quononchontaug Pond. The Rally is a fun, family-oriented pursuit race that’s open to anyone and any type of small sailing craft.

Boats participating in previous rallies have included Beetle Cats, Snarks, Sunfish, Lasers, Bugs, sailing canoes, windsurfers, Dyer Dhows and more. If it floats and has a sail, it can join the fleet!

In this race, slowest boats start first, with a le mans-style start from the beach. Racers navigate around a few obstacles before meeting back on the beach for a BBQ and prizes.

All boats with children under 14 should either have an adult on board or a dedicated crash boat to supervise the underage boat or shadow the boat from another sailboat.
