The first annual Stonington OysterFest will be held at Enders Island overlooking Long Island Sound in Mystic, Connecticut, on Saturday, August 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This unique event will feature gourmet food, wine and beer pairings, jazz music and freshly shucked Noank Oysters under a “big top” tent with child-friendly adventure water activities and lunch.
Proceeds support New England Science & Sailing (NESS) as well as NESS outreach activities for the Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality (MASH), a partner non-profit. NESS program staff will offer supervised, child-friendly water activities.
The benefit OysterFest features gourmet food catered by sponsor restaurants including the Oyster Club, ON20, Grant’s, Captain Daniel Packer Inne, Dog Watch, Skipper’s Dock, Noank Oyster Coop, Cavey’s Restaurant, Bravo Bravo, among others. “We believe in the mission of NESS, and outreach programs for children including this special collaboration with MASH,” said Dan Meiser, Co-Chair of the event and owner of the Oyster Club Restaurant.
Tickets are $65 per person and $10 per child under age 14. Guests are encouraged to also enjoy the Annual MASH “Iron Chef” benefit on Friday August 16, also at Ender’s Island. A 10% discounts for tickets to both events.
