According to the Portand Press Herald, 3 paddlers have much to be thankful for after being rescued from an island in Maine’s Androscoggin River when their canoe capsized on Thanksgiving morning.

Members of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office and Gilead Fire and Rescue were able to reach the stranded paddlers in a boat and remove them from the island. No injuries were reported.
