Few people understand the impact that has on the fishing industry and Northeast communities quite like Matthew McKenzie.
McKenzie, an assistant professor of history and maritime studies at the University of Connecticut, is profiled in a recent article on the UConn Today website. He brings his historian’s perspective to his role as a Connecticut delegate to the fisheries council. And he paints a bleak picture of how far the cod fishing industry has fallen.
