The Patriot Ledger reports that writer Peter Hunn is seeking to interview former Boston Whaler employees who worked for the company when it was based in Massachusetts. At one time, Whaler had 3 of its 4 plants in Hanover, Norwell and Rockland, and employed hundreds of South Shore residents until the company left for Florida in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.
Hunn wants to interview former Whaler employees for a book on the history of the company. He is quoted in the Ledger article as saying: “I would like to put together what an average day was like at the factory as the boats were being made, the brand of pride someone had for working there, how they got the job, and so on.”
