WickedLocal Barnstable: Construction on the Stewart’s Creek estuary habitat restoration project in Barnstable began this week (January 30) and will have some impact on local traffic, according to a release from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The system is connected to Hyannis Harbor and Nantucket Sound through a 50’-long, 3’-diameter concrete culvert that passes under Ocean Avenue. The project involves restoring tidal flushing to the salt pond/marsh system by replacing the existing culvert under Ocean Avenue.
