The Buzzards Bay Rowing Club will host its 6th annual “Buzzards Bay Open Water Challenge” (formerly known as Row for the Bay) on Saturday, June 1, at 10:00 a.m. in support of the Seamen’s Bethel in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The event is open to kayaks, canoes, row boats, dories, gigs and whaleboats.
Registration for the 3-mile race, which will begin and end at Fort Taber Park in New Bedford, begins at 8:30 a.m., the day of the race. To pre-register, visit the Buzzards Bay Rowing Club website by clicking here or call (508-961-5955).
The entry fee is $20 per person and includes water, juice, fruit and refreshments for rowers at the end of the race. T-shirts will be given to the first 50 registered rowers. Awards will be presented to winners in various categories of craft including kayaks, sculls, coxed boats and rowboats.
