Researchers studying sharks off Cape Cod believe the Cape may be a breeding ground for great white sharks, according to an article from CBS Boston.

If the Cape is a breeding ground, it could explain the large number of shark sightings in recent years, say researchers. One of the sharks tagged last year could hold a key to information on shark breeding. The tagged shark was believed to be pregnant, so researchers don’t expect the shark to return this year as it takes sharks a year-and-a-half to give birth.
