CapeCodOnline: It’s nothing more than an upper deck that wraps partially around the fish processing and packing facility at the town’s municipal fish pier. Still, visitors and locals alike visit year-round for the panoramic view, to watch the fishing fleet unloading, see seals and birds, and feel nature’s power when there are snowstorms or hurricanes.

Now, the observation deck at the Chatham Fish Pier, one of the town’s favorite destination points, remains closed after some movement was detected last month at the gable end near the stairs where some of the support beams connect to the building, said Terry Whalen, the town’s principal projects and operations administrator.
