The Coast Guard in northern New England is searching for the owner of an unmanned paddleboat that was found capsized in the vicinity of North Shore beach in Hampton, New Hampshire, earlier today (Friday, October 18).

The Sector Northern New England command center has issued the below text to solicit assistance from regional media outlets and the public:

On Friday, October 18, at 10:45 a.m., Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor received a report of a 8’ Pelican paddle boat with a light blue top and dark blue bottom that was capsized in the vicinity of North Shore beach in Hampton, New Hampshire. The boat has been recovered; however, it is unknown whether anyone was onboard when it capsized.

The paddle boat was last seen Thursday night near 32 Noreast Lane, Hampton, and was recovered near 1070 Ocean Lane, Hampton. There was a campfire last night in the vicinity where the boat was last seen on shore. The Coast Guard’s interest in this case is search and rescue.
