New London, Connecticut’s City Council is beginning the process of transferring a sliver of land along the New London waterfront to the Coast Guard to build an $80 million National Coast Guard Museum, according to an article on TheDay.com.
Last April (2013), city, state and Coast Guard officials announced plans to build the 4-story, 54,000-square-foot national museum on the city’s waterfront.
