After more than two years of debate, the first phase of the $900,000 Jacobs Beach Project in Guilford, Connecticut is well underway, according to an article in the New Haven Register.

It was decided $500,000 received from a state grant would pay for a new boardwalk from the bathhouse to the playground, safer drop-off areas for children, and two kiosks built by high school students to display messages and beach rules.
