Suffolk Times: With the clock ticking before a seasonal dredging window closes, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers finalized an agreement this week with a Port Jefferson-based contractor to dredge Mattituck Inlet, according to federal officials.
The project, originally estimated to cost about $3 million, will be completed by Village Dock Contracting Inc., for $2.2 million, Chris Gardner, an Army Corps spokesman said.
