TheDay.com: Plans to repair and strengthen the Crescent Beach bluff [in East Lyme, Connecticut] are moving forward a year after damage from Superstorm Sandy.
Last fall’s hurricane eroded the coastal bluff stretching between Crescent Beach and the Niantic Bay Yacht Club. The walkway on top of the bluff, running past a row of homes, even crumbled in places after the storm surge.
The Crescent Beach Association plans to restore the rocky bluff and prevent further erosion with a new engineering design.
